George's Weekly Round-Up

Posting a bit early this week as it’s Christmas!

There has been a lot of talking about the ‘New Year’ this week, keep an eye on the website http://www.bipp.com/ as it sounds like lots of exciting events will be taking place.

We are closing today for the Christmas holidays and will be back on 3 January 2012.

I plan to go home and eat a lot of Turkey and mince pies followed by a snooze on the sofa!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

George's Weekly Round-Up

Well it's been busy this week, the postman driving me crazy with loads of parcels arriving - apparently they are prints for some award or other (http://www.bipp.com/Default.aspx?tabid=589). Don't know why they won't let me help open them but at least I get to bark at the postman, that's always fun.

There's also been some rushing around getting stuff ready for the next issue of the magazine - I don't understand what all the fuss is about, it won't be out until after Christmas.

I'm annoyed they won't let me join Facebook though - apparently lots of people were talking about me this week. I'm a star!!

Website Survey Results

We would like to thank all our Members who took the time to fill in our website survey.  We received lots of helpful feedback and comments.  We will be reviewing all the feedback and improving our website early in the New Year.

Some stats from results from Members...

We were pleased to see that overall most of those who responded were satisfied or very satisfied with the website.

We were also pleased to see that most respondents found what they were looking for too.
However, respondents haven't found much reason to make repeat visits.  This is something we will be working on.

News of any updates and improvements to the website will be publicised here, in our Facebook group and on Twitter.

Once again, thank you to everyone who responded, and if you have any further comments or suggestions for the website please send them to us.

George's Friday Summary

"Had to stay upstairs again"

Everyone has been running around a lot this week, there were Qualification Assessments on Monday and Tuesday (I had to stay upstairs again).

Congratulations to everyone who gained their BIPP qualification!

On Wednesday a few of the humans went out to London for the South East Region Awards Presentation. The event took place on board the Tattershall Castle on the Thames! Check out the winning images at http://www.bipp.com/Default.aspx?tabid=875

Boxes have appeared under the tree wrapped in paper and now we have another tree indoors at home! I thought maybe this was to save me having to go in the garden when it is so cold – but apparently this is not what the trees are for! Nor are the boxes for playing with……

I don’t think I have had my quota of tummy rubs this week due to the number of events taking place so I will now do ‘the rounds’ around the offices with my best puppy dog face to see how many tickles (and treats) are on offer!

George's Friday Summary

A large tree has appeared in the BIPP offices this week – I am a little confused by this as I am constantly told ‘NO’ when I go near it! It has sparkly lights and dangly things which all look very inviting to play with – I will have to go and have another investigate when no one is looking…..

We had a lot of visitors on Thursday for Portfolio Assessments when photographers came in with their images to be looked at by a BIPP Assessor. These can be tough days for me as I have to stay upstairs and try and be quiet when I want to be downstairs to greet everyone! Apparently barking and jumping at humans is not the correct way to say Hello – but I disagree!

If you would like to book a Portfolio Review with a BIPP Assessor please visit the website www.bipp.com/portfolioreviews.

It’s Friday today which I am sure means a day at home tomorrow – a long lay in on my owners bed, cooked breakfast (hopefully), a gentle stroll through the park followed by a snooze on the sofa!

‘Wags & Kisses’,

George X

Introducing George

Hi, my name is George, and I am 4 and ¾. I am a Labradoodle (my Mummy is a Labrador and my Dad was a Giant Poodle)!

I come to work at the BIPP Head Office most days and have become an integral part of the team – my main responsibility is shredding of paper for recycling! Sometimes I do get told off for shredding the wrong things but I do my best!

My favourite foods are sausages and cheese but I’m currently on a diet so not too many of those around at the moment! I do manage to find the odd apple core, yoghurt pot and crisp packet from the bins when no-one is looking!

I will be posting (with a little help) a weekly Friday round-up of news and events at the BIPP from the Canine perspective!

’Wags & Kisses’, George X

Busy, busy and congratulations

It’s a busy day at Head Office, with portfolio reviews taking place throughout the day.  We’re also preparing for the South East Region Awards taking place next Wednesday at The Tattershall Castle in London.  We'll be posting the winning images here next week.

We’d like to send our congratulations to Ady Kerry ABIPP who achieved the coveted QEP status with a panel of Sport Reportage pictures at last weekend’s judging session in Brussels.  You can see Ady’s work on his website: http://adykerry.photoshelter.com/

We’re going to be showing a Profile of Day every weekday on the Blog.  We’ll be displaying profiles where the photographer has uploaded images, so if you are a member who hasn’t done this already, please add some images to be included.
